Good morning CGIL,
This week we are happy to have Ben Yang and Harry Aricibasi, master's students at the University of Guelph, presenting for us on Friday, February 28th, 2025. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform Microsoft Teams and in-person in ANNU 101. The titles of the presentations are:
"A comparative analysis of classifiers on modeling sow productivity" [Ben Yang]
"A Hybrid Deep Learning Approach for Automatic Detection of Mounting Behaviour in Boars" [Harry Aricibasi]
Speaker Bios:
Ben Yang is a master’s student in the Department of Animal Biosciences at the University of Guelph, working in Dan Tulpan’s lab. His research interests include the application and development of computational software to enhance biological data collection, prediction, and analysis. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo with a focus in bioinformatics programming.
Harry Aricibasi is a master’s student in Dan Tulpan’s lab at the University of Guelph’s Department of Animal Biosciences. His research centers on developing automated machine learning solutions to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and animal welfare in agriculture.
